Penn State’s football season will be here before you know it and now’s the time to get up to speed on the personnel the Nittany Lions will have at their disposal to start the season. DU brothers routinely own all comers in intramural sports, so why not be the most informed Penn State football fans when the season starts?

Our previous offseason report looked at the quarterbacks, offensive and defensive lines and linebackers and now we move on with our second installment.

Penn State seemingly has more receivers than it will have balls to go around. DaeSean Hamilton and Geno Lewis are back after teaming up to form a solid 1-2 punch last season and the Nittany Lions have a handful of youngsters looking to get involved in the offense.

Those receivers will have to battle a deep defensive backfield throughout camp.

Although Penn State lost three senior safeties, a bunch of newbies got a lot of playing time last season. What will sophomores Grant Haley, Christian Campbell and Marcus Allen contribute in Year 2? The ceiling for this group appears very high.

Akeel Lynch led Penn State in rushing last season while sharing time with Bill Belton. Now, Belton’s gone and Lynch is the lone back on the roster with in-game experience. Can he handle the load? Will he even have to?
