THON Weekend 2021 was a complete success for DU. Once again, we have remained a top Greek fundraising organization for the 4th year in a row, raising $105,134.19 with our partners, Delta Gamma, despite the circumstances. In the last 4 years, Delta Upsilon and Delta Gamma have raised over a half-million dollars in our fundraising efforts. Overall, THON fundraised over $10.6 million for childhood cancer research. Our 3 senior THON chairs: Matt Santos, James Latch, and Nassim Stegamat represented our chapter this year as dancers. While THON was held virtually this year, our chapter was able to rent an Airbnb in State College for all 7 dancers to participate in THON Weekend activities held on the live stream. Following all COVID-19 guidelines set forth by State College, our dancers will still be able to have friends and family visit and drop off packages, mail, and other necessities as needed to dance the full 46 hours of THON. We also had a Zoom link set up throughout THON for other members of our organizations to join in order to support the dancers virtually. Our underclassmen THON chairs greatly helped in planning all logistics of THON Weekend this year.

Unlike other years, our dancers were encouraged to take sleeping breaks, however, with our amazing support system from friends, family, and our 3 paired Four Diamonds Families, all 7 dancers still completed the entire 46 hours of THON. Even without access to resources such as Athletic Training or EMS, this was a huge accomplishment for us. We could not be more grateful for all of our friends, family, and alumni who supported us throughout the year and THON Weekend to make this year such a success all for the kids. We hope to continue our reputation as a top Greek fundraising organization in the future to support the fight against childhood cancer.
