DU Alumnus, Wife, Sponsor Garden At Campus They Consider Home

Vincent Tedesco ’64 and his wife Suzanne were the first in their respective families to attend college, arriving at Penn State through the grace of scholarships and financial aid. They met, hitit off, and married in relatively quick succession – all without leaving campus. Now, they are the proud sponsors of a garden on the University Park campus, which Suzanne says “Is a garden for all seasons.” Click HERE for the full story.

“Big Man On Campus,” Samuel Wolcott ’57 Enters Chapter Eternal

Samuel D. Wolcott Jr., 85, of Camillus, passed away Thursday at home. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, he moved to Syracuse in 1965. A graduate of Kingston High School, Samuel was an Air Force veteran and earned his bachelor's degree from Penn State University. He was head cheerleader, all-university parliamentarian, sophomore class president, member of the Delta-Upsilon Fraternity Alumni and known as "Big Man on Campus" in college.

DU Remembers Brother George Kowatch, Jr ‘48

George M. Kowatch, 94, of Altamonte Springs, Florida (previously West Chester, PA and Vero Beach, FL) passed away on July 6, 2017. He was born on August 24, 1922 in Lansford, Pennsylvania to the late George and Helen (Youchock) Kowatch.

George was a United States Army veteran of WWII and served in the 87th Chemical Mortar Battalion for 326 days of combat from Normandy to the Elbe River in Germany. He received the American Theater Service Ribbon, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Ribbon with one silver star, the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
